Hi! My name is Harry Fotheringham. I am an Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineering (MEng) student at the
University of Leeds. Currently I am undertaking an industrial placement year at DriveWorks Ltd as an
Applications Engineer.
I am a highly motivated individual, with a great interest in mechanical design and manufacture and am very
keen to take opportunities that will allow me to bring my ideas to the industry.

I was born
From starting at university I have found that I really enjoyed my coding. We have been taught C++ as well as
some of the basics of MatLab coding. While on placement at DriveWorks I also taught myself HTML, CSS and basic
JavaScript, as well as getting lessons in XML. I have also coded this website and used Netlify and some of its
functions to host the site from my GitHub repositry.

3D printing is a new hobby of mine since I received a 3D printer for my birthday last year. Naturally this meant that everybody got 3D printed Christmas presents! I do all of my modelling on SOLIDWORKS as that is what I was taught at university and I am currently working towards my CSWE. Currently I use the printing software that came with my printer (Voxelab - Aquilla X2) but am in the process of learning to use the Cura software. I play many different sports, including football, hockey, badminton and cricket. Sport and fitness are a big part of my life. In April 2023 I completed the Adidas Manchester Marathon. I ran this for my grandad who sadly passed away and raised money for people like him who suffer with MND. My main sport is Cricket which I play at my local club, Bawtry with Everton CC. My favourite sport is probably badminton which I try to play at least once a week. I also like to go shooting on Sundays with my grandad.
I am really into my Physics, it was by far my favourite subject at college as well as Maths. I like to read books about Maths and Physics. I have read a couple of Steven Hawkings books and am currently reading one about Mathematics in every day life. I also like to listen to podcasts about subjects such as the hydroncoliders and upcoming physics theories. I often find the best the to listen is while on a run and I get lost in the Physics. At university I also live with Physicists and so I sometimes find myself sneaking into their lectures to see what they are learning. I remember one disticly about electron spin, but please don't ask me to explain it again. I also attended a lecture given by a Physics Proffessor from Oxford who talked about time crystals.
At home I have many animals, including dogs, cats, horses, geece and chickens. I have 5 dogs currently; Amber, Nala, Korra, Ginny and Benny. They are all golden retrievers and we breed from them. Amber is Ginnys grandma and Nala Ginnys mum. Benny is a recent development and he is a white show dog. We have been told that he has the potential to get into crufts. We also have 2 cats, Max and Suki, both are rescue cats that we have brought in to look after. Just down the road from our house we have a small field where we keep our geese chickens and 2 horses.
I have really gotten into playing chess and enjoy a good game. I am currently rated around 900 fluctuating up and down a lot. I try to play at least once a day with my friends or online against people. I would like to get better and learn more theory. If you would like to give me a game you can find me here: Fozzy836638
